Healthy, young skin is smooth, firm, evenly colored, free of blemishes and wrinkles, and has no sun damage.  As we age, there is a decrease in collagen and elastin production. These  provide the elastic stretch to the skin.  The amount of proteoglycans, (large water retaining molecules made of chains of polysaccarides) also decrease resulting in drier, looser skin.  When you add to this process the effect of ultraviolet damage from the sun, the appearance and structure of the skin deteriorates even further.  Not only does the collagen breakdown more rapidly due to the sun, the remaining fibers become more cross-linked and disorganized.  The result is fine, wrinkled, and sagging skin.

TREATMENT TECHNOLOGIES

Titan™
This treatment,to address sagging, lax skin, uses an infrared light to heat the deeper layers of the dermis.  This causes the existing collagen to re-coil, much like returning a stretched out spring to its original shape.  This immediate change in the collagen structure firms the skin naturally by re-coiling the collagen molecule often providing immediately visible results.  But there is more.  Over the next month this treatment stimulates the skin to produce even more young collagen thus further thickening the skin, enhancing the original results, and reversing the aging process at this level.  This breakthrough treatment is more comfortable than Thermage™ and has no downtime.  In addition, because the energy levels are controlled, there is no risk of damage to the underlying support tissues of the skin causing pits or dimpling.

Laser Genesis™
Using a unique micro-second 1064 Nd:YAG, the papillary dermis is targeted with only the sensation of gentle warmth with collagen stimulation at a level closer to the surface than the Titan™ treatment.  Over the course of the treatment schedule, with this FDA approved treatment pore size is reduced, texture improves, fine lines and wrinkles diminish and diffuse redness and rosacea fades.  This stimulated superficial collagen contraction and synthesis will also improve the appearance of acne and wound scars. Dermal Fillers
Restylane®, Hylaform®, and Juvederm® are all made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring polysaccharide component of the skin which plays an active role in hydration and maintaining the texture and firmness of the skin.  When injected into the skin, these fillers immediately diminish the appearance of static wrinkles (present when the face is at rest).  Other popular uses include lip augmentation, filling nasolabial folds, crease around the mouth, vertical lip lines, forehead and frown lines, and depressed scars.  When used in conjunction with Botox® to relax those muscles causing the deep static lines, the effect is more pleasing and longer lasting.
